31 Northern Ireland area meeting, Portrush Townhall. Portrush Town Hall is Hearth's most recently completed project and is an interesting building. It was designed by Lanyon, Lynn and Lanyon and opened in 1872. Like many other Victorian public buildings it played an important part in the architectural streetscape as well as being a social centre for the town. At its opening a concert was given before 'a very large and really brilliant assemblage.' During the Second World War gas masks and ration books were distributed from it.
